Okay, I'm happily using KMyMoney2 under Kubuntu and doing okay importing QIF files. My local bank n longer supports QIF, but does do OFX - so I tried importing that. Surprise! It worked just fine by using Online Banking and AQBanking Importer.

So - since AQBanking is installed and the importer works, and I see options to configure it for online banking - has anyone set it up for SunTrust? How do I figure out Bank ID, Bank Name, Institure, Customer ID, and whatever other fun stuff I need?

Any pointers to configuring AQBanking? The OFX Import is pretty slick - but I'd like to just grab transactions online if I could.

Been messing around with it.

Found a guide for setting up AQBanking for GNUCash here: http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Setting_up_OFXDirectConnect_in_GnuCash_2

Since GNUCash uses the AQBanking wizard, set up should be the same. I then went to OFX Blog: http://ofxblog.wordpress.com and looked up SunTrust and IBMSECU. I was able to configure the users using the GNUCash AQBanking guide and the OFX Blog.

When I click on Get Accounts, I get prompted for my password and I get a security certificate back to accept. I negotiate that - but can not seem to download my accounts. Still trying to figure it out - but making progress.

(using Kubuntu Intrepid and KMyMoney 0.9 out of Kubuntu repositories).

Anybody sort through setting up the accounts and getting them working?

Made further progress. I contacted one of my banks and was able to work through getting AQBanking to connect to the bank and download my accounts. Now I can click on Online Banking in KMyMoney, click on Configure AqBanking, look at my users, click on Edit, OFX, Get Accounts and I was able to get all my accounts from that bank. AqBanking knows about my bank and my accounts at that bank - and got the account info from the bank.

So far, so good. I then went to Accounts. Edited each account and clicked on Map to AqBanking Account. They are now assigned to my online accounts. Hooray!

I went to Accounts again, and clicked Online Update with AqBanking - and it worked!!!!!!!!!!!

So: online updating of OFX accounts is working with KMyMoney and AqBanking from the Kubuntu repositories. It was hard figuring it out - and I should have written it down. But it works. Now to figure out my other bank and credit card online stuff.
